KamaraImages Story and Vision
From Liberia to the Lens
Behind every photo is a storyteller…
I'm Joseph Kamara, a Denver-based photographer, and my first camera was a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
I started out capturing travel memories during sports tournaments in Canada and Dubai, long before I owned professional gear. As a Liberian refugee and a first-generation graduate of Colorado State University, I also knew what it felt like to stand on the other side of the lens: at graduations and community celebrations where professional photography was simply out of reach. Those moments mattered. They deserved to be documented well.
That's why I launched KamaraImages in 2022, while working full-time in cybersecurity. The mission has been the same from day one: make professional photography accessible to the communities that have historically been priced out of it, and make sure every client walks away feeling seen and celebrated.
Today I photograph weddings, events, and portrait sessions across Colorado, and I'm building KamaraImages into something bigger than a freelance business: a brand that creates lasting impact for local communities and organizations.
If you have a moment worth remembering, let's turn it into meaning.
